WEVA All Star Championship Teams

THE WEVA USA REGIONAL TEAM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IS...

... the sole sanctioned USA Volleyball Indoor Regional Team Development Program in the WEVA Region. The program allows our region to train and compete under the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program umbrella. We duplicate the programs, training, and concepts which athletes from across the nation can receive if they make a USA Volleyball National Program camp or team.

The Mission of the Western Empire Volleyball Association (WEVA) Regional Team Development Program is to provide additional and unique development opportunities for the Region’s Elite Junior Volleyball Athletes as well as to the Region’s Elite and Aspiring Volleyball Coaches. We operate in full compliance with the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program Philosophy.

Coaches are selected through an open application process. Athletes are selected through a multi-tiered competitive selection process in compliance with USA Volleyball National Team Development Standards. There are NO restrictions on the number of Coaches or Athletes allowed participating from any given Team, Club, School, or other organization. The Program

has NO Team, Club, Organizational alliances or affiliations other than the Western Empire Volleyball Association (WEVA) and Championships.

Boys All-Star team coach:
Dan Miranda - Current Buffalo State Head Men's Volleyball Coach, Former Elmira College men’s coach for six seasons.

Girls All-Star team coach:
Kristen Bauer - Former head coach at Division 1 Coastal Carolina University for 13 seasons. During her time leading the Chanticleers, she compiled 223 wins, the most in program history.

Thank you for attending the WEVA All-Stars Program tryouts!

Each and every athlete worked extremely hard and displayed tremendous talent. The efforts and volleyball skills you demonstrated really made our decisions difficult, but truly helped solidify the high level of talent in our region.

Though some of you may not have been selected for this year, we encourage your continued dedication to our sport which strengthens our region and in turn builds more opportunities. Most importantly, we look forward to seeing what the future has in store for all of you that attended.
We cannot thank you enough!

Below are the rosters for both the Girls and Boys U17 teams and all athletes listed will be contacted by the WEVA coaching staff in the very near future. We look forward to competing this summer at the USAV All-Star Championships and hope to expand these opportunities year after year.

2023 TRYOUT REGISTRATION AND TRAINING INFORMATION

Player Age:

Our goal for Tryouts will be creating one boys team and one girls team at the U-17 divisions for this year’s USA All-Star Championships.

Boys U17 – Athletes Born in 2006-2007
Girls U17 – Athletes Born in 2006-2007

Tryout Dates:

May 19 th at Pinnacle Athletic Campus, Victor, NY

Girls Tryout: 6-8:00pm

Boys Tryout: 8-10:00pm

May 20 th at Niagara Frontier Sports in Buffalo, NY

Girls Tryout: 3:30-5:30pm

Boys Tryout: 5:30-7:30pm

A full Regular Junior WEVA membership is required prior to tryouts.

Note: Registrations will close the Thursday before the tryout dates; no walk up registrations will be available. This program is for full WEVA members only. You may not be a member of another region and tryout for our program.

Players will be evaluated at tryouts by the head coaches with input from their assistants, club directors, club coaches and via video submissions from players unable to participate due to injury, etc.

Team rosters and alternates will be posted on this page following the tryouts.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TRYOUTS?
These tryouts determine who gets selected to attend the WEVA All-Star Training Camp at Buffalo State University July 9-10. This training camp is for those selected for the WEVA All-Star Team. The teams then attend our Final Practice on July 16 th also at Buffalo State University before traveling to the USA All-Star Championships from July 19-24.

Training Dates:
Overnight Training Camp: July 9-10 (Sunday-Monday)
Final Practice: July 16th Sunday

Costs per Player

The WEVA Region is covering a portion of the expenses for this opportunity.
Each player accepting a position on the team will be required to pay a $900 portion of the cost. The following items are included in the costs for each team:

Overnight Training Camp Expenses (meals and lodging included)
Team Apparel
All-Star Tournament Entry Fee
Hotel Rooms for players
Coaches Expenses
Team travel at tournament
$30/ Person/ Day for Meals at tournament

**Transportation costs to the tournament (ie: flights) are not covered in the fees listed above. Players will be responsible for their own travel to Florida.

Players selected as alternates will be required to pay $300 to attend the two-day Overnight Training Camp

Upon making the team and accepting a roster spot, an initial deposit of $300 is due by June 1st.
$600 balance will be due by June 23rd.
Alternate payment plans can be made available if necessary.
