Grants & Sponsorship Committee

WEVA Members:

As the WEVA Executive Director, I have been asked to establish a Grants & Sponsorship committee. In that effort I am asking for a small group of folks from the WEVA family that have some knowledge or a desire to learn to help us out. Please call or reply by email to the address below.

This would be a committee that would only meet initially and an exchange of ideas could happen thru assorted medias. Please reach out to parents, players, and others on your teams and in your clubs for help. This could help WEVA maintain and improve its level of support without the usual last resort of raising membership and event costs.

Libero Serve Rule:
WEVA has requested from USA the authorization to allow Liberos in our region to serve this coming season. This request was approved with some exceptions, see 2 & 3 below.

REQUEST FOR RULE MODIFICATION
REGIONAL VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION

As per the USAV By-Laws, Article IV 4.01 A 6, Regional Volleyball Associations shall "use the rules of play adopted by the Corporation or a variance thereof approved by the Corporation". Rule modifications may be administered by a Regional Volleyball Association (RVA) under the following conditions:

1. A request is made annually by the RVA to the Rules Testing Commission (RTC) stating the rule modification and the purpose.

2. The modification may only be used at tournaments in which teams do NOT earn a bid to the National Championship events. Events which are prohibited from using modifications include Girls' Qualifiers, Boys' Bid Events and Regional Championships or other regional events which award bids.

3. All teams involved in the event where the rule modification will be used shall be fully informed of the rule modification at the time of entry into the event.

The mission of the Western Empire Volleyball Association is to promote and develop growth of the sport of volleyball in the counties it represents in Western New York from the grassroots levels to adult leagues. WEVA fosters learning the sport of volleyball by providing classes designed to teach the latest methods and strategies in coaching, as well as providing highly trained officials to referee tournaments and matches.
