WEVA Board of Director's Meeting:
The next WEVA Board of Director's meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 19th, 2010. Additional information about this meeting can be found here.
WEVA has requested from USA the authorization to allow Liberos in our region to serve this coming season. This request was approved with some exceptions, see 2 & 3 below.
REQUEST FOR RULE MODIFICATION
REGIONAL VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION
As per the USAV By-Laws, Article IV 4.01 A 6, Regional Volleyball Associations shall "use the rules of play adopted by the Corporation or a variance thereof approved by the Corporation". Rule modifications may be administered by a Regional Volleyball Association (RVA) under the following conditions:
1. A request is made annually by the RVA to the Rules Testing Commission (RTC) stating the rule modification and the purpose.
2. The modification may only be used at tournaments in which teams do NOT earn a bid to the National Championship events. Events which are prohibited from using modifications include Girls' Qualifiers, Boys' Bid Events and Regional Championships or other regional events which award bids.
3. All teams involved in the event where the rule modification will be used shall be fully informed of the rule modification at the time of entry into the event.

WEVA Board of Director Election Results April 1, 2010:
In accordance with the WEVA Constitution and By-Laws, periodic elections are held to fill open positions on the Board of Directors. Annual Elections are held
for nominated individuals to fill positions on the WEVA Region Board of Directors. Those elected will serve three year terms. This year, four of the nine Board
positions were open to be elected/re-elected.
New Board members will become official October 1, 2010
New President: Rocco Lucci (succeeding Scott Seabridge)
Treasurer: Jeff McKinney (succeeding John Newland)
Boy’s Rep: Tom Weislo (no change)
Girls Rep: C.J. Denk (succeeding Rocco Lucci, Jr.)

The mission of the Western Empire Volleyball Association is to promote and develop growth of the sport of volleyball in the counties it represents in Western New York from the grassroots levels to adult leagues. WEVA fosters learning the sport of volleyball by providing classes designed to teach the latest methods and strategies in coaching, as well as providing highly trained officials to referee tournaments and matches.
